Casa Grande, Ariz., August 3, 2022 – The American Oncology Network, LLC (AON) and Drs. Carlos Arce-Lara and Ramon Mourelo of Cancer & Blood Specialists of Arizona (CBSA), are pleased to announce that radiation oncologist Samrat Sanghvi, MD, has joined the AON community oncology practice in Casa Grande.

CBSA-Dr.-Sanghvi-PR-HeadshotDr. Sanghvi earned his Doctor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, where he received the Warwick Evans Radiation Oncology Award. He then completed an internship in internal medicine at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and a residency in radiation oncology at Loma Linda University in California.

While at Loma Linda, he served as Chief Resident of the Radiation Oncology program. He also had the opportunity to experience international radiation oncology in Germany and more recently, volunteering in a radiation oncology clinic in Nepal.

“We are excited to have Dr. Sanghvi join our practice. He treats a wide range of cancers as well as benign conditions and has extensive experience with Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy treatments,” said CBSA medical oncologist Dr. Carlos Arce-Lara.

CBSA has numerous locations across the state and continues to grow. The practice currently consists of nineteen providers including seven medical oncologists, two gynecologic oncologists, a radiation oncologist, a general surgeon and eight nurse practitioners.

“Radiation therapy is an important weapon in the battle against cancer. Having Dr. Sanghvi join the team with his expertise will benefit not only the Casa Grande community but the entire network of community oncology practices,” said AON President and Chief Development Officer Brad Prechtl, MBA.

“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Sanghvi,” added AON Chief Executive Officer Todd Schonherz. “The Casa Grande practice brings together multispecialty services including medical, surgical, radiation oncology, nutrition and others. It is the only facility in all of Pinal County providing true comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care. The collaborative environment is designed to make cancer care more accessible and easier for patients, enabling them to stay in Case Grande for treatment, instead of traveling to institutions in other cities.”

Dr. Sanghvi will begin on August 3 and is accepting new patients.
