Greater Washington Oncology Associates Announces Clinic Relocation

February 20, 2023

Local oncology practice relocates to a new office to provide better patient care and services.

WASHINGTON D.C., Feb. 20, 2023 – Greater Washington Oncology Associates (GWOA), a community oncology partner practice of American Oncology Network, LLC (AON), announced the relocation of its clinic from the south tower to the north tower at 106 Irving Street Northwest, Suite 4100, Washington, D.C. The practice has continued to see patients during the construction of the new space and is operational in the new clinic starting today.

“GWOA’s new office is equipped to deliver the same personalized cancer care that has been established, and patients have continued their care journey without interruption,” said GWOA’s Board-certified medical oncologist Ram S. Trehan, MD. “It is our duty to provide a space that has the necessary services available for us to treat our patients holistically, including creating an environment of healing and peace for our patients and their families.”

The clinic includes an exam room for private patient consulting, an on-site lab for quick blood draws and other orders and an in-office infusion room with nine chairs for patients to receive treatments. Community-based oncology practices, such as GWOA, are designed to locally provide the latest in cancer care, making care accessible and reducing the time patients may spend traveling to receive treatment.

“We encourage our practices to evaluate their clinic spaces often to ensure the current surroundings meet the needs of patients on a care and treatment level as well as a comfort level,” said AON Chief Medical Officer Stephen “Fred” Divers, MD. “GWOA’s relocation, while not far, is an example of a practice continuously evolving operationally to put patient care at the forefront of their offerings.”

GWOA joined AON in March 2021. AON is a network comprised of community-based oncology practices across the nation and is dedicated to providing accessible cancer care; addressing the various disparities present in healthcare; and offering its practices expanded resources, centralized services and operational support.
